“Belize” an oil painting by Chase Langford, has been acquired by the Long Beach Museum of Art. This is his first painting in a museum’s permanent collection. The acquisition was arranged by Sue Ann Robinson, Director of Collections & Exhibitions, Ron Nelson, Executive Director, and Eve Kilger, Trustee.  “Belize” was featured in the museum’s exhibition “Abundant, Bountiful, and Beautiful” from November 2016 to March 2017.

The Long Beach Museum of Art presents art by California artists in a wide variety of media. This exhibition continues our tradition of presenting contemporary works created and collected in California.   Recent acquisitions to the Museum’s collection feature over 100 works on paper, ceramics, sculpture, paintings, and artist books by modern and contemporary artists.

Over 100 works in exhibition. Along with Langford painting the show include works by Ron Davis, Matt Wedel, Christine Nguyen, Tom Knechtel, Ellsworth Kelly, Joe Goode, Roger Herman, and Robert Motherwell.
